The Edgewood Park home on 945 Durlston, Redwood City has been under construction for about three years now. It was originally purchased through a Probate sale in 2005 for $1,425,000. The owners of the property leveled the existing structure (see the lower picture on the right) and began building a behemoth Mediterranean style home. About a year after construction started, everything stopped.
Rumor had it that neighbors complained about the structure. Word on the street is that the neighbors surrounding this Redwood City home approved the design, but what was framed in did not match what those neighbors were shown. The house is supposedly taller than either it was proposed or the neighbors believed it to be. Anyway, a stop order was issued by Redwood City and the complaint was reviewed.
Apparently some compromise and approval by the city must have come to fruition because construction has once again commenced at 945 Durlston. It will be nice to have this home completed since the vast wall of aging plywood was becoming a bit of an eyesore.
