My weight remains about 210 lbs! I find myself now skipping an extra day during the week, but I'm still hitting the gym about 5 days per week. The easy gains are over and that's a little depressing. I find myself just going through the motions at the gym and not pushing myself as hard. It's also been a little depressing that my shoulders tend to bother me on several exercises.
I think the key is not to stop going to the gym even if you are just going through t he motions, because sometimes you surprise yourself with a really workout out. Stopping for more then a week is the kiss of death, trying to get back to it after that is next to impossible. The plan for now is keep going and hope to find motivation to push myself again - and let's not even talk about eating habits!. |

Alright, I now weight 210 lbs! I remain consistent in hitting the gym 6-7 days per week. I did give up running on the thread mill and been having a hard time getting into something else that gives me the same intense exercise. Both the stationary bike and elliptical fall short, but I will stick with the Elliptical for a while longer. The good news is the knees are feeling much better since I quit running.
As for the weight? I would like to think it's muscle, but I suspect that since I stopped jogging and continue with my old diet, that it's a combination of muscle and fat. Oh well, the battle continues! |

The goal of hitting the gym 6-7 times a week is on track, I run on the treadmill 3 of those days and do weights the other 4. However, I may need to switch to a lifecycle, my 44-year old knees feel like they are taking a pounding. I tried the bike once and my heart rate jut does not get as high on a bike. We'll see.
The weight story has not changed - I remain a couple pounds heavier then when I started and . My diet right now is simply to snack less, but still eat all my meals including a large dinner.
I feel both better and worse all at the same time. While I feel like I'm getting in better shaped and stronger, my knees, hips and back often ache from the exercise regiment. Is this the price to be paid? |

Well, so far consistency has not been bad at all. This past week I only got to the gym 5 times due to Valentine's Day and me racking up another year, I'm now 44. While I keep feeling stronger when I go to the gym, I am kind of plateuing on the aerobics. I run for half hour at about the same speed as the past three weeks and that seems to be plenty.
The weight remains the same, I'm a couple pounds heavier then when I started, but I feel like I look thinner - maybe a delusion. The diet remains the problem. Still eating whatever I want, which is plenty of everything. One step at a time! |

It has now been about a moth since I started. I continue to be able to go to the gym 6 days per week. I got my running up from 1 mile in 20 minutes to 3 miles in 30 minutes. There's still room for improvement, but I'm running 30 minutes which was my goal, I just need to get faster.
The diet is non-existent. I continue to eat what I want which is OK for now but will need to change later. While I have only lost 2 lbs since I started, I have reduced my waist size by 1.5" so I think I actually lost a little more than that and put on a little muscle. The good news is that its getting easier to go to the gym and I'm getting beyond the really sore days if I over do it a little. |

Well, it's been about two weeks since I started and I have to say that I'm proud of decent success with the exercise regiment. I have been going to the gym 6 days per week; every once in awhile life just gets in the way of that 7th day. Where I'm failing is the diet. I have been able to stay away from snacking, but still eating large meal with lots of meat.
My weight remains the same, I'm not discouraged since I can always concentrate more on the diet once I feel that I been consistent with the exercise. It does feel nice to sweat some! |

OK, so things actually got worse since I signed up for the New Year's resolution 3 weeks ago. The holidays came and I packed on about another 5 pounds. I also made the mistake of actually measuring my waist - it's never been bigger. I have actually weighed about 18 pounds more in the past, but had a waist about 5" smaller. Something is very wrong?
I have just only got started on my plan. On January 2nd I began going to the gym. The sessions are only about 20 minutes long and pretty easy for now as I get my body use to exercising again. I have also limited my food intake. I am trying to cut back on meat and big carbs, but the real effort has been to get rid of snacking and high calorie drinks. I still eat OK sized breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The dietary change will be more of challenge as I need to discover new meals to cook that meet my new goals. My meals were always planned around what type of meat I was going to eat followed by what might compliment it.
The goal for the next two weeks will be to keep hitting the gym for about 20 minutes each day and start developing a healthier recipe book that I will actually eat. I also took photos of myself, but am too embarrassed to post them until I can hopefully have some better 'after' photos. |
