Yesterday my usual routine was interrupted. I walked to my car in the morning to take my kids to school and it was immediately evident, someone had beaten me to the punch. Sometime overnight someone was in my car – damn!
Things were strewn about all over, I could see right away that my GPS system was gone - not the built in type, but mounted to the dash. I could not find my sunglasses and my garage remote was also gone.
Of course I called the police. They came over and I filed a report, but there were no fingers prints on anything else for them to go on. The officer informed me that GPS systems are being taken from cars all over Redwood City. She left and I began the task of changing my garage remote code.
All in all, not too bad. My car was not trashed, my dash was not ripped open so they could take my old stereo, no broken windows and they left all paperwork behind that had any kind of ID. The windows were probably not broken because I think I left my car unlocked, it rarely ever happens, but that was the night! |
