June 23, 2010 - Today a county official stated that in light of opposition expressed by the Redwood City Council and the public to the proposed location for the new jail, it is unlikely that the supervisors will vote on June 29th. The Council will instead consider the matter further before voting.
Meantime, Maya Perkins, Supervisor Gibson’s aide, will be holding a meeting that is open to the public this Friday (June 25th) at 11AM to discuss the location proposal of a new jail by Sherriff Munks. The meeting will take place at 400 County Center in Redwood City and most of the other legislative aides have also been invited. This might be a good forum to have your concerns heard.
